More Precious Than Jewels: A Reminder for Women Under Pressure

More Precious Than Jewels: A Reminder for Women Under Pressure

The Pressure Women Carry

Women are under constant pressure to hold up to society's expectations. We are expected to remain beautiful at all times; long eyelashes, full lips that are always glossed, trending hair, and a perfect shape is only a fraction of the pressure. We're expected to maintain all this while being soccer moms with full-time careers. We're expected to stay attractive for our husband's while maintaining our sanity and patience for the well-being of our families. We try to maintain our productivity and strive to be successful in everything we do because we feel like, with one misstep everything falls apart.

Sadly, our basic needs rarely make the priority list. So, even when we're successful ,we feel empty, lost and still, not enough.

When Pressure Turns Inward

The worst part isn’t always what people see, it’s what happens on the inside. When we feel like we’re lacking in any area, we begin to crumble internally. We either begin overcompensating or shut down entirely. Many women experience denial or lose motivation in the very areas they feel the most pressure. Some outwardly appear confident while inwardly feeling like they’re never enough, which fuels comparison, silent envy, liming beliefs and discouragement.

Either way, the constant weight leads to chronic stress, insecurity, anxiety, depression, and so much more.

God Never Asked Us To Carry That

Let me remind you today that the world set those standards, but God never asked us to carry that burden. As women of God, worldly standards should not shape our thoughts, values and identity. God has a higher call and it is not those standards. We do not conform to the patterns of this world, or exhaust ourselves trying to please people. We are led by the Holy Spirit into transformation and daily renewal of our mind, heart and spirit.

So take rest ladies, because God is good.
He calls us to walk in the beauty and grace of who we truly are in His eyes.

Beauty Isn't the Problem, The Pressure Is

There’s nothing wrong with looking your best, being a super-mom or owning your career. The problem comes when those things lead us, define us, and eventually, crush us.
The world has a way of breaking us into pieces…
and when we call on Him, Jesus steps in, gently picks us up and reminds us that we were never created to chase the world or be affirmed by it.

Jesus is the way. He shows us who we are and who we can be, while the Holy Spirit holds our hand, as He restores all that we lost ...and more. Oh how good is our God!

Only Jesus Satisfies

In my life, I've chased a lot of things looking for love and wholeness. I never knew that there was something or someone you could chase that would actually lead you to joy, peace, purpose and love, instead of, pain, disappointment, rejection or lies. Nothing else satisfies our soul but Jesus.

The best part is, on the good days and on the bad days, He still loves you just the same. When you look and feel a mess he doesn't turn away. He picks you up and reminds you of your worth and beauty. And when you feel alone, He knows just how to let you know how special you are to Him. Sometimes it feels like He's plucked a rose straight from heaven, just for you.

The world doesn't advertise that kind of love because then it would lose its power. We have been endlessly chasing fleeting moments of pleasure, temporary peace and conditional love. However , through Jesus, we find true love. And that's a different kind of love. It's the kind of love that when you chase it, it chases you back. It's the kind of love that leaves you overflowing. It's the kind of love that brings you peace that cannot be stolen. It's the kind of love that lifts you up and encourages you. It's the kind of love that's always good. It's the kind of love that lasts.

Stand Firm

Stand firm in who you are, women of God, because he fills every gap. Stand bold in who you are becoming, ladies of the light, because you are fearfully and wonderfully made and are truly more precious than priceless jewels.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We know that You are love. So we thank you for allowing us to know that kind of love.
Thank You for loving us beyond the expectations of this world. Thank you for creating us a standard. Thank You for reminding us that our worth is found in You alone.

Help every woman reading this to release the pressure, silence the lies, and rest in the identity You’ve given her. Renew her mind daily, fill her heart with peace, and surround her with Your loving presence.

Lord, lift every burden, heal every wound, and restore every piece of her heart and mind that the world has broken. Let Your Spirit guide her into your endless love, confidence, joy, peace and truth.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light.
