Bible Study Building Blocks is a growing series of guided, Scripture-rooted studies designed to help us build a strong foundation with God, one connected piece at a time.

Each main Block focuses on an important area of spiritual growth. That Block is then explored through smaller, connected Parts, giving us room to slow down, study meaningful Scripture passages, reflect, write, pray, and take a next faithful step.

These studies are more than verse-of-the-day devotionals or generic reflection workbooks. Each day helps us engage the biblical text, understand what it reveals about God, notice the people, choices, promises, warnings, and patterns within the passage, and respond personally through prayer and faithful action.

We build across the series, and we build within each Block. Each Part gives us another piece of truth to study, hold onto, and begin living out.

About the SURRENDER Study

SURRENDER is Block 3 of The Next Faithful Step Series. This seven-Part Block invites us to bring God what we have been trying to hold, receive the truth He says about us, look to Jesus as our example of yielded trust, recognize resistance, return to trust with wisdom, and follow the light God gives one faithful step at a time.

Throughout the Block, we’ll explore surrender as an honest, relational response to God rather than weakness, passivity, or the loss of faithful responsibility. Through Scripture, guided teaching, personal study questions, reflection, prayer, and practical next steps, we’ll consider what belongs in God’s hands, what He is asking us to do, and how trust becomes visible through the way we live.

The Block concludes with baptism as a visible, whole-person yes to Jesus, identifying with His death and resurrection and continuing in the surrendered life that follows.

Each Part is a complete five-day mini study and may be purchased separately. The Parts can be completed in order as a connected 35-day journey or selected individually according to the truth most meaningful for your current season.

Part 3: Jesus and the Yielded Yes

Walk with Jesus through Gethsemane and see the posture of a surrendered heart. Explore how Jesus brought His honest desire to the Father, remained close in prayer, received strength, and allowed the Father’s will to have the final word.

Part 4: Surrender or Resistance?

Recognizing What Is Leading Your Heart

Look more closely at the quiet ways resistance can begin through desire, fear, delay, self-protection, or searching for a different answer. Learn to recognize what is leading your heart and return honestly to God’s truth and direction.

Part 5: Returning to Trust With Wisdom

Discernment, Boundaries, and Faithful Responsibility

Discover what biblical surrender looks like in real life. Learn how surrender works alongside truth, discernment, healthy boundaries, wise preparation, safety, support, and responsibility for the next step God has placed before you.

Part 6: Following the Breadcrumbs

Enough Light for the Next Faithful Step

Explore the steady ways God brings truth and direction close enough for us to respond. Learn to stay rooted in Scripture, prayer, wisdom, and safe counsel while following the light God gives for today instead of waiting for the entire path to become clear.

Part 7: Baptism: The Whole-Person Yes

Identifying With Christ and Yielding Our Whole Selves to Him

Explore baptism as a visible, whole-person yes to Jesus. Study the invitation to be baptized, the biblical picture of being buried and raised with Christ, the belonging baptism expresses, and the surrendered life that continues after we come out of the water.
